To Natalie Goodpaster from Andrew Tran

Congratulations on graduating Natalie! Thanks for always bringing good and fun vibes to class and just overall being a very nice and down-to-earth person. You always seem really genuine whenever and wherever you speak. I find that truly admirable and inspiring. You’re an amazing singer! And I'm sure you’ll be an amazing teacher in the future as well! Thanks for all your hard work. Take care of yourself, be careful when you make avocado toast. And I wish you all the best!

To McKennah Wheeler from Siena Wheeler

Hi McKennah,

I hope you are doing well. It’s Siena from choir. I have not met with you personally, but I’ve seen you in class and saw your senior recital (Great job by the way!).

You are always smiling and cracking jokes to De Lyser. You seem like a fun person to be around, and I wish we could have met you in real life.

You are passionate about singing and have a powerful and beautiful voice. I’m guessing you want to be a teacher which is going to be such a rewarding profession!

I wish you well in your career and life. I’m sure things will play out nicely. Come back to UP and watch our performances! 😊

Best,

Siena Wheeler

To Alberto Rincon from Cameron Creitz

I first met Alberto Rincon-Pardo in Astoria, Oregon. I had just graduated from high school and I was just moving into the hotel room I was provided at the Astoria Music Festival. There was a knock at my door. This friendly, bearded smile met me at the door and said “Hi, I’m Alberto.” We quickly became friends and shared a very hectic journey together in Astoria. We were both new to the University of Portland and he was always the friendly face that I could turn to when I needed a friend. He’s a great musician as well. It was always fun to sing with him and jam on the piano with him.I often joke around in choir with him or put him on the spot. All in good taste, he always plays it off with a smile and a laugh. I’ll miss him dearly when he is gone, as he was my first friend I ever had from University of Portland. I’ll keep this letter short and sweet, just like Alberto. -Cameron Creitz

To Kay Smith from Jade Ward

Dear Kay, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. You have been so kind, understanding and, helpful as I have navigated the music program here at UP. I really have appreciated your help in everything as it can get really confusing sometimes. But more than that, you’ve been a great friend. I have really loved sitting next to you in wind symphony and orchestra. It’s been great being able to get to know you better through that. I know you are going to do wonderful things and go on to become an amazing doctor. I can’t wait to see what you do in life because I know it is going to be great. Thank you for being a fantastic mentor and someone I really look up to. -Jade Ward
